Visa Requirements

All travelers to Indonesia must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage. Here you can find important information for your visa to Indonesia.

By Presidential Decree of 21 of 2016 dated on 2 March 2016 on Visa Free, replacing Presidential Regulation Number 104/2015 on Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 69/2015 on Visa Free, Indonesia now provides special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of a total 169 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia. Tourist Visa Free Facilities are valid for 30 days, are non-extendable and cannot be transferred into any other type of stay permit.

The visa exemption facility can be used for tourism, family visit, social visit, art and culture, government duty, to deliver a speech or attend a seminar, international exhibition,meetings with head office or representative office in Indonesia, or transit. If the 30 days of Visit Visa Exemption facility feels insufficient, visitors still can apply for Visa on Arrival (given for 30 days and extendable for another 30 days) or Visit Visa.

Visa C11 is a subtype of the Indonesian Business e-Visa (e-Visa C) for foreign nationals who intend to enter Indonesia to participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, or other MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events. The visa permits activities such as presenting products, delivering speeches, providing consulting services, or attending as a delegate.

Eligibility & Requirements
  • Passport with at least 6 months validity from intended date of entry.
  • Invitation letter from the event organizer or host institution in Indonesia.
  • Local guarantor or sponsor (company or institution).
  • Proof of sufficient funds and onward/return travel.
  • Recent passport-style photograph and any additional documents requested by the immigration authority.
Validity & Extensions
  • Single-entry visa with an initial authorised stay (please verify current terms).
  • Extensions may be possible subject to immigration regulations and approval by Indonesian authorities.
Application Process (high level)
  • Secure an invitation or sponsorship from the event organiser in Indonesia.
  • Prepare required documents (passport, photo, invitation, sponsor guarantee, proof of funds).
  • Submit the application through the designated e-visa channel or via an authorised service provider.
  • Receive the visa decision and use the visa within the validity period specified on the visa.
  • If needed, apply for extension(s) through the local immigration office before the authorised stay expires.
Important Notes
  • Visa C11 does not permit employment or long-term work in Indonesia. Activities must remain within the scope of participation in exhibitions and conferences.
  • Fees, processing times, and exact documentary requirements can change. Please consult the official source or your visa service provider for the latest information.
  • Visa applications are the sole responsibility of each exhibitor.
  • The organizer does not handle visa applications and does not act as a guarantor.
  • Exhibitors must independently apply for a C11 Visa via the Indonesia eVisa portal or the nearest Embassy/Consulate.
  • All exhibitors are required to follow official procedures and remain compliant throughout the event.

The Indonesian Government provides Visa on Arrival (VoA) to tourists from 86 countries which can be obtained at designated entry airports and sea ports. Visa-on-Arrival are valid for 30 days and are extendable with another 30 days to be applied at Immigration offices in Indonesia. Visa on Arrival fee costs US $35.

To avoid any hassle at the airport, The Indonesian Government allows foreigners from 86 countries to apply for an e-VOA as a single entry visa that is valid for 30 days stay in Indonesia with the purpose of Tourism, Government Visit, Business Meeting, Goods Purchasing, or Transit only.

The e-VOA validity period is different from the stay period. The validity period for e-VOA is 90 days. If foreigners holding e-VOA come to Indonesia after the 90 days period, they must apply for a new e-VOA, visa on arrival at the airport, or other types of visas.

Foreigners holding e-VOA are allowed to land at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta and Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali. e-VOA fee is US $35 with an additional fee for every payment via Debit/Credit Card according to the financial institution’s regulation.

Visitors from other countries must apply for a visa at Indonesia Embassies or Consulates in their home country. In addition, visas cannot be replaced with any other immigration letters. The visa shall then be administered by the Visa Officer in the presence of the applicant concerned.
